Ina Kažuro is a co-author of the article on The Food Culture and Diet of the Basilian Province of Lithuania published in the "Quarterly of the History of Material Culture"
The article presents the eating habits and diet of the monks of the Holy Trinity Monastery in Vilnius, which belongs to the Lithuanian province. It was determined what rules defined these customs and to what extent they were observed by the monks, what food products the menu of the community consisted of and what were the sources of obtaining products. A comparison with the Basilian monastery in Lviv, representing the Crown (Ruthenian) province of the order, allows us to better understand the specificity of the Basilian eating culture. Its specificity was largely determined by the abandonment of the ancient monastic tradition of not eating meat. Other features were determined by post-Tridentine monasticism and the socio-economic factors of society at the time.
